At approximately 0255 on May 7, units from Nokesville, Lake Jackson, Coles District, Bristow, Manassas City, Buckhall, Evergreen, and Stonewall were dispatched to a reported house fire on Windy Ridge Place in Nokesville. E505 arrived with smoke showing on all sides and advanced a handline for fire attack in the large single family dwelling, backed up by E507. TWR501, TWR525, and RS506 entered to conduct searches and E516 established RIT. BC504 established command. A rural water supply operation was established, with E501 establishing a fill site for the tanker shuttle. BC501Y assisted at the command post while BC582 assumed Division A, AC525 established Division C, and BC591 managed water supply operations.

Due to several water supply issues, concealed fire rapidly overtook the entire structure, requiring crews to evacuate and switch to defensive operations. Additional tankers were requested from Lake Jackson and Fauquier County, as well as an additional engine for manpower from Manassas Park. The fire was brought under control in about 1.5 hours, but crews remained on the scene until after shift change to complete extinguishment. No injuries of firefighters or occupants were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
