On Saturday 1/13/18, Company 11 units were dispatched for a female in labor. Upon arrival Medic 511, Ambulance 511 and Engine 511 found a female in active labor with visible crowning, it quickly became apparent that she would deliver very soon. M511 Lieutenant announced "we are doing this right here right now". Quickly and calmly the ambulance and engine crews readied the obstetric (OB) kit while M511 assisted in the delivery of a healthy baby girl. M511 attended to the baby while the remaining crews further attended to mom. Mom and baby were carried to the medic unit for safe transport. It was an honor to help in the delivery of this new life.
